A very chaotic temple. Wat Pailongua is the entrance to hell.

"Chaos. That's one of the best parts of Asia!"

Hello, this is Macchan.
This time we would like to introduce you to Wat Pailongua, a strange hell temple located in Suphanburi province in western Thailand.
In one word, it's "chaos" or "madness."

We would like to introduce you to a terrifying but somehow unique and mysterious hell theme park. I learned about it from an article by Gigazine that I happened to come across.
It was love at first sight. I just don't like chaotic things like this.

First of all, what is this place? Introduction to Wat Pailongua

People are cut into pieces, people are boiled in kilns, people are forced to drink molten copper.
. The reason why such scary objects are lined up is to enlighten children.
The point is, this is what happens when you do something bad, and it's scary.
So let's be good kids. It is that. These hellish objects are not all that this temple has to offer, there are also regular giant Buddha statues and other temples.
There is also a souvenir shop. It's extremely spacious. It takes a day to see everything.

It is located in Suphanburi, a province in central Thailand.

How to get to Wat Pailongua from Bangkok

You can get to Wat Pailongua from Bangkok Southern Bus Terminal (Saai Taimai). The Southern Bus Terminal is about 40 minutes by taxi from central Bangkok and costs around 150 baht.

South bus terminal exterior

From the South Bus Terminal, take bus number 68.
The cost is 45 baht and the duration is 1.5 to 2 hours. There is no need to buy tickets at the counter.

After getting on the bus, Un-chan will ask you your destination and then come to collect your fare. there were! Number 68! This is it!

Come on, I'm going to hell. By the way, there is no air conditioning, so it gets very hot inside the bus. As you start running, a pleasant breeze flows in.

"Go to Hell! Go to Hell!"

It's inside the bus. I can't stop being excited.

Approximately 2 hours bus journey.
Well, we have arrived at our destination. This large gate that you see when the bus stops is a landmark.

The grounds of this temple are quite large.
It is equivalent to the size of so-called Tokyo Dome. The area inside the red frame is the site, and the light blue area is the Hell Park that we are looking for this time.

Go through the main gate and walk down the main street for about 5 minutes and you will see the hell theme park you are looking for.

Oh, I see something!

The object of the deceased whose neck was grabbed by a prison guard greets you, and
the skeleton staff is surreal.
Now let's break inside.

When you step inside, the first thing that catches your eye is a huge statue that looks like a man and a woman with their hands raised toward the sky.
Important parts are also reproduced carefully.

Does it look like it's asking for help? Hmm, that's creepy (Koetsu)

The dead climb the thorn tree.
The green-eyed guy in the foreground is surreal. "Huh? Do you want to eat asparagus too?"

Dead man whose head is cut with a saw (|| ゚Д゚) Howawa

Scene of being cut into pieces and carried away

Somtam is spicy

A demon has stabbed me with a spear. .

He will be torn into pieces by demons.

What do you think?

These gruesome and terrifying objects. I guess it's a relief that her face isn't that realistic and has a slightly charming look to it. Inside the park, there were glimpses of crying children, perhaps brought by their fathers.

. I'm confident that I would have been traumatized if I was a child too. Here, various animals pray for salvation.
By the way, even if you kill insects, you will go to hell.
How many mosquitoes did I kill this summer? . . I was scared, so I prayed with him.

These various tortures are expressions of the eight great hells of Buddhism. Boiled in a kiln. I am crushed by a pile of needles. Tongue pulled out. etc. Since many of the sufferings of hell are expressed, it may be fun to first learn about hell's torture and then look for it.

By the way, this hell area is undergoing acclaimed expansion, with new objects being created more and more, and many objects still in progress. Even if you've been there once, you might be able to see a different view of hell next time.

Some are decent

Foreign tourists visiting Wat Pailongua are probably looking for this hell park, but
there is also a temple with the Big Buddha and an elegant structure.

This is Wat Pyronua

Wat Pailongua is not the hell area, but this temple.

Big Buddha with an archaic expression

Big Buddha watches over the entire temple grounds with his all-seeing eyes.
It is quite large compared to the cars and people below.

Buddha statues lined up in an orderly manner

They lined up in an orderly manner as if they were listening to the morning principal's talk.
This seems to be a heaven area in contrast to the hell area mentioned earlier.

This is...the zodiac...
From the front: child, ox, tiger...

Even if it's hell, I'm hungry

Now, after witnessing so many horrific scenes, I'm a little bit hungry, but I'm still hungry.
There are souvenir shops, coffee shops, and food stalls inside the hospital, so go shopping, have a coffee, and refresh your mind for a night out.

The kuit tiao 40B at the food stall was extremely delicious. ↓

The return bus is every hour

↑The building opposite the bus stop
The bus that returns to Bangkok leaves about once every hour from across the street from the bus stop where you first got off.
However, this is Thailand, not Japan. The bus scheduled for 4:00 p.m. showed up just after 4:30 p.m. with an innocent look on its face.

While waiting for the bus, I came across a mysterious decorated truck with many masked marshmallow men.
