[Must-see for Thai beginners] Only 2 books you should buy and study methods

"I want to study Thai, but I don't know which books to buy."

"From the basics to advanced techniques. I'll introduce you to books that will help you memorize frequently used words."

There aren't as many English language books, but there are way too many Thai books.
Language books are not cheap, costing around 1,500 to 3,000 yen.

Most of the books are in Thai at a travel level, and just cover frequently used Thai words and grammar .
This is fine when traveling, but unfortunately I can barely understand what the other person is saying .

You will be able to only say what you want to convey and give a simple response.

This book is recommended for the following people:

  • Those staying in Thailand for a long time
  • Those who want to get along better with Thai people

Thai may be difficult to learn, but it's surprisingly easy.
Which is more difficult, English or Thai? I am often asked this, but I think English is more difficult.

The reason will be explained later

Recommended book for beginners of Thai language with audio CD

Recommended for those who have been studying by using pointing phrasebooks, and also for those who are starting to study for the first time.
You will be able to have conversations at a level used in daily life .

Basic grammar and frequently used words. You can study pronunciation etc.

Points that Thai beginners often give up on at first

It's the pronunciation.
Thai has vowels, consonants, and tones, which makes it a little difficult to understand. Therefore, in Thai lesson 1, we will first repeatedly study the differences in pronunciation.
It comes with a CD, so it's a good idea to listen to it over and over again and memorize it by actually pronouncing it.

The tone of voice is particularly difficult. There are five tone patterns, and the same word can have different meanings depending on the tone.

In Japanese, it means "rain, candy, bridge, edge, and chopsticks."

The great thing about this book it comes with an audio CD and has illustrations for each situation, so you can study while imagining it .
It also covers the basics of grammar and frequently used words, so you can study efficiently.

I've been using online Thai lessons years, and I've bought about 10 other Thai books, but none of them were at this level.
If you can memorize these two books , .

By daily life, I mean a level at which you can go shopping, go to the hospital, sign an apartment contract, etc. in Thai.
also possible to fall in love with a Thai person .

The content is written with a solid foundation.
By the way, there aren't that many words, so you have to memorize them separately.
I think it would be a good idea to buy a vocabulary book as well.

The most efficient way to study Thai

This mnemonic is common in all languages.
No matter how many books I read, I just can't master it.
The reason is, " I don't use it on a daily basis. I think it's meaningless because I don't use it ."

I was studying English, but it's not necessary at all in Japan, so I just couldn't get used to it.
I never use Thai.

So in my case, I decided to take an online Thai language class

Vocabulary + Grammar + RPG

The thing about RPGs is that you should use them and get used to them.

How to use Thai language lessons

  • 1. First, listen to the pronunciation and memorize it.
  • 2. Memorize words
  • 3. Learn grammar
  • 4. Create sentences using words and grammar
  • 5. Try having an actual conversation (using an online Thai language class)
  • 6. Repeat steps 1 to 5 and once you have memorized it, go to Thailand.

The basics are repeating this.
It's hard to remember words, but you have no choice but to remember them.

Unfortunately, you can't have a conversation unless you remember the words, but conversely, you can have a conversation if you remember the words.

You often see English, but you rarely see Thai if you live in Japan.
So it's quite difficult to remember, but I have no choice but to try my best.

The grammar is pretty simple, so I didn't really care.
Let's create sentences using the words and grammar that we have learned. I think it's best to keep it short at first.

Once you are able to speak a little bit from 1 to 5, try using it.

“Where can I talk to Thai people?”

"If you go to a food stall, a Thai massage, or a bar, you can have a conversation."

You say it often, don't you? " Get used to it rather than learn it ."

Are you setting yourself a hurdle for conversation? Conversations are easy.

It is said that 30% of communication is through language.
If you have the intention to convey it, it will be conveyed. I've also been able to convey what I want to convey through body language or by reading books.
