I've enjoyed golfing in Thailand several times, and each time my Thai Freak boss (who everyone calls the King) has arranged everything for me, and this is the only time I've ever booked golf on my own. It was my first time.

I didn't have any clues or prior information about making golf reservations in Thailand, but I remembered something my boss, who I trusted completely, said about Thailand.

Taking this as a clue, I decided to make a golf reservation at the travel agency AKG in Pattaya.
I later learned that AKG is a fairly well-known company in Pattaya, and the company's president, Mr. Akagi (so AKG?), is also a fairly well-known person who has appeared on TV in Japan. hey.

The important points when choosing this course were "cost performance" and "availability."
I was planning to play a round with a friend, but neither my friend nor I are very knowledgeable or good at golf.

For this reason, he wasn't too particular about the facilities and courses, and chose Eastern Star Golf Course because it was a course that he could play at a relatively reasonable price and without being rushed. However, whether it is cheap or not, leisure activities are half the fun. In that sense, I was very satisfied with the course considering the price, the facilities, the quality of the course, etc.

This time it was a weekday round, but there was a promotion on the AKG website where you could make reservations for 600 baht (about 2000 yen).

(*Unfortunately, this promotion is currently sold out.) The list price is 1,500 baht (approximately 5,000 yen). How can you book so cheaply? As expected, AKG was highly praised by the king. Also, since I was planning to go empty-handed this time, I also arranged for a shuttle to the golf course and a rental club set.

Please note that at the time of registration, you will be asked if you need a caddy or golf cart, and if so, she will pay the additional cost. On this course, the cost was 400 baht per cart and 350 baht per caddy. This is not mandatory, so you don't have to pay if you don't need it.

When you get to the course, the caddy will be waiting for you with the golf bag you gave him when you arrived, so head towards him.

The caddy does all the driving of the cart, so it's easy. This course allows carts to enter the fairways, so you can drive a cart to the ball. Even so, at this temperature (37 degrees), it's pretty tough without a cart. . .

I have played on courses in Japan several times, but the courses in Thailand have a different feeling of openness due to their large grounds.

The fairway is also wide, so there is no need to worry even if your driver swerves a little. The greens were relatively hard and the ball seemed to run. My friend and I don't usually play golf, so we had a hard time hitting the ball well in the beginning, but in the second half we got used to it and were able to enjoy golf as golf.

The caddy knows the course inside and out, so he gives me lots of advice on how to attack, and he compliments me when my driver flies straight (lol). I think this type of communication with the caddy is one of the ways he enjoys playing Thai golf.
